[dropcaps]Z[/dropcaps]AMBEEF Group of Companies has announced the retirement of Adam Fleming as a non-executive director. Mr Fleming is expected to step down from the Board of Directors with immediate effect.
Mr Fleming joined Zambeef on February 26, 2004. The Group is a fully integrated food producer with operations in Zambia, Nigeria and Ghana.
Zambeef announced in a statement recently that that Graham Clark will replace Mr Fleming as a non-executive director, subject to confirmation at the next annual general meeting.
“Mr Clark has over 30 years experience at senior levels with major food and agriculture companies across sub-saharan Africa, including directorships of listed companies, and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia,” the statement reads.
Commenting on his retirement, Mr Fleming said “I have greatly enjoyed my time on the board of Zambeef,” he said.
He said business has grown tremendously in the period, including the expansion of its footprint across sub-saharan Africa and a successful listing on London Stock Exchange’s sub-market, AIM.
“I am delighted that somebody with Mr Clark’s considerable experience is joining the board at this very exciting time in the Group’s development. I will continue to remain a supportive shareholder of Zambeef,” Mr Fleming said.
Zambeef Chairman, Jacob Mwanza said Mr Fleming’s expertise, knowledge and business experience has been greatly appreciated over his 12 years on the board.
“We are very grateful to him for his significant contribution to Zambeef’s growth and expansion in the period, and we wish him well for the future. I also take this opportunity to welcome Mr Clark to the board of Zambeef. I believe that his extensive and highly relevant experience will be of significant value to Zambeef,” Dr Mwanza said.
