A contract to supply 15,000 metric tonnes of basal dressing fertilizer has been awarded to the Nitrogen Chemicals of Zambia (NCZ) by the state.

The Chief Executive Officer, William Mwale revealed this when Member of Parliament for Kafue, Mirriam Chonya visited his office.

Mwale revealed that the plant is currently shut down due to some maintenance works in readiness for commencement of production of the Farmer Input Support Program (FISP) tonnage for 2019/2020 farming season.

In the interim, Mwale made mention some challenges NCZ is currently facing such as paying off retirement packages and NAPSA contributions.

At the very meeting, it was revealed that NCZ now has a full Board which is chaired by Zambia State Insurance Corporation Life Managing Director Christabel Banda.
