China has reiterated its commitment to supporting Zambia’s agricultural sector, expressing confidence in the country’s investment prospects. During a recent meeting with Zambian Agriculture Minister Reuben Phiri, Chinese Ambassador to Zambia, Han Jie, emphasized China’s willingness to collaborate with Zambia on agricultural projects and boost exports of Zambian agricultural products to the Chinese market.
“China is optimistic about Zambia’s agricultural investment potential and is keen to work alongside Zambia to leverage the platform of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) to promote more joint agricultural projects,” Ambassador Han stated. “We believe that this will not only benefit the two countries’ economies but also strengthen the bonds between our peoples.”
Minister Phiri welcomed Ambassador Han’s appointment, highlighting the fruitful outcomes of Zambia-China agricultural cooperation under the strategic guidance of the two countries’ leaders. “The upcoming FOCAC Summit presents a golden opportunity for China and Zambia to deepen our partnership in the field of modern agriculture,” Minister Phiri said. “We encourage Chinese businesses to seize this moment and invest in Zambia’s agricultural sector.”
The Zambian government has pledged its full support for the implementation of the agreements reached between the two heads of state, aiming to further strengthen the comprehensive strategic and cooperative partnership between China and Zambia.
The meeting underscored China’s continued commitment to assisting Zambia’s agricultural development and its belief in the potential for mutually beneficial cooperation between the two nations.
