Digital technology has taken the spotlight with projects like Agri Digital Growth, Agri-Trac 2 and Xfarm’s equipment solutions showcasing advancements in agricultural tech. Discussions underscored the digital transformation in agriculture, data management and skill development in the sector.

One major highlight was the launch of Agri Digital Growth, an Interreg Central Europe-funded initiative led by Crea Viticoltura Enologia in Conegliano, involving 11 partners across academia and industry. Project manager Luca Masiero explained that the initiative aims to develop training in key digital skills, including cybersecurity, IoT, data managementand satellite technology, to equip both young specialists and experienced professionals with future-ready skills.

FederUnacoma, supporting this initiative, emphasised the industry’s growing reliance on digital business management systems. Alessio Bolognesi, head of FederUnacoma’s digital division, noted the need for specialised training in handling diverse agricultural data, from agronomics to machinery performance, citing Agri Digital Growth as a crucial step in addressing these needs. FederUnacoma also recently launched the Afi Accademia project to streamline training access for industry professionals.

Agri Digital Growth additionally introduced its Call for Talent, a precision agriculture competition inviting participants to tackle real-world challenges presented by project partners, with innovative solutions to be implemented in agriculture operations. The project will culminate at EIMA International.
