Macfrut 2025 is set to redefine the fruit and vegetable industry, bringing together global stakeholders at the Rimini Expo Centre from 6 to 8 May. With expanded exhibition space, over 1,400 exhibitors, 1,500 top buyers and 40% international participation, this edition signals strong industry momentum. Egypt, the Partner Country, will showcase 40 companies, while Mali will feature 60. The Democratic Republic of the Congo will present 30 companies, Ghana 20 and new entrants like Tanzania and Iraq will join the expanding list of participants from Africa, Europe and Latin America.
A major highlight is the debut of The Healthy Food Show, an arena spotlighting the nutritional benefits of fresh produce. Featuring expert discussions, cooking demonstrations and insights from industry ambassadors like Olympic champion Valentina Vezzali, the initiative underscores the role of fruit and vegetables in a balanced diet.
Macfrut will also host three international symposia, including the International Symposium on Biotechnological Tools in Horticulture, which brings together global experts to explore advancements in plant breeding and genetics. Other key events include the International Potato Symposium, the Spices & Herbs Global Expo and the Biosolutions International Event, reflecting industry-wide innovations.
Italy’s fruit and vegetable sector, valued at €17 billion, continues to grow, with exports rising 6.3% in 2024. Germany remains the top export market, while Eastern Europe leads in growth. Domestic consumption has also increased, particularly in fresh vegetables. Macfrut’s role in facilitating global trade is reinforced by a dedicated networking platform connecting exhibitors with buyers from key markets, including Brazil.
Looking ahead, Macfrut 2026 will move to mid-April, leveraging new facilities at the Rimini Expo Centre to introduce innovative formats and enhance global participation.
