Government to fast-track maize purchase payments

Government has purchased over 200 thousand bags of white maize in the just ended maize purchasing season in Kasama district of Northern Province.

Kelly Kashiwa, Kasama District Commissioner told ZANIS that 565 bags of soya beans have also been purchased from local farmers, during the same exercise.

The authorities have assured maize that payment will be rolled out soon and appealed to farmers to be patient while payment process is being finalized.
