Cashew seedlings quality non negotiable by Government

The Zambian government has negated to compromise on the quality of Cashew Seedlings produced in the Western Province.

In accordance to media reports, Government says it will not compromise on the quality of Cashew Seedlings produced under the Cashew Infrastructure Development Project.

Agriculture Minister Michael Katambo said the success of the Cashew project depends on the good quality seedlings that enable farmers to produce good quality cashew nuts for the market.

Mr. Katambo said it is good that the association has accepted their mistake by producing seedlings without following the project guidelines.

This came about after some farmers grew Cashew Seedlings hoping to be purchased by the project despite no contract awarded.
